El II Encuentro Internacional de Historia de la Amazonía que se realizará en el mes de septiembre del año 2019 es un espacio académico, en el que se tiene como principal objetivo la divulgación de las investigaciones más recientes sobre la región amazónica realizadas desde el enfoque de disciplinas, como la historia, la sociología, la antropología, las ciencias políticas y sociales. En esta versión, el Encuentro busca también entablar un diálogo de saberes entre las comunidades ancestrales de la Amazonía, la sociedad y la comunidad académica.
La Universidad de la Amazonía debe ser un espacio que incentive la investigación sobre los procesos históricos acaecidos en la Amazonía, pero además, un espacio académico en el que se socialicen investigaciones hechas por la comunidad científica regional, nacional e internacional sobre dichos procesos.}
